Mike Hachey

Mike is what people who don’t know Mike call Mike. People who do know him call him Hachey. Some people here claim to have heard his mother call him Hachey. Hachey owns his family name the same way he owns Egg: Someone’s got to be in charge, and it might as well be him. A born entrepreneur, Hachey brings an intuitive understanding not only to our business, but to all the businesses that hire us. And his business instincts have made him valuable–literally–to the charities he supports too.

The thing with Hachey is: he’s creative...which means he always finds a way to over-deliver. In the interest of full disclosure, that can be very annoying if mediocrity is your goal. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Sara Thomas, MBA

Sara presides. Hence the title, President. Go-To, or Director of Smart could have worked. Maker would fit too, since she makes contact, makes decisions, and makes things happen. (Making things happen is kind of key here, since this is a production company.) But whatever you call her, calling her is a good move.

Sara has a forestry degree from the University of New Brunswick. This means she can see the forest for the trees. She also talks to trees. She speaks fluent birch, pretty good pine, and is sprucing up her maple. She's popular among the elms too.

Fish hate Sara, though, ever since she spent two years in Japan studying sushi. She also learned Japanese and a whole lot about sake.

Naturally, this all led to Sara earning an MBA at Saint Mary’s University and, inevitably, the presidency at Egg. For details, visit our website or call Sara.

Don Veinish

Don Veinish rejects being described as “God’s gift to creativity,” pointing out that nobody ever called him that. With characteristic humility he claims, “All my ideas come from studying hidden symbols left behind by aliens.” In his private life, Don is active in several private pursuits, and he supports a number of private causes. Here at Egg, he is working on a way to make commercials that will play on transistor radios.

Evan Kelly

Evan is an unusual hybrid of Producer and Director, possessing the talent to be both. To be good at both you have to be detail oriented, creative and great with people. He understands that the budget is just a box, and only through understanding your resources and limits will you be able to recognize your possibilities. His comfort with the specifics of the pictures he is creating is matched by his clarity of the overall picture of what the client needs and what the audience wants.

Evan will walk you comfortably through your project. Everything from what happens before, to the shoot itself, to the post and polish that follows.

Bob Mills

A native of Halifax, Bob spent five years earning a mechanical engineering degree at Acadia University, then took the next logical step: pursuing a rock ’n roll career in Toronto. To everyone’s surprise–especially his own–he was successful, recording and producing numerous records, and drawing crowds on the stages of Toronto’s best live music venues, including the iconic Horseshoe Tavern and El Mocambo.

In the music business, success is not synonymous with eating, though, so Bob eventually fused his creative flair with his engineer’s practicality, focusing his energies on post production. In the ensuing years, he gained expertise in all areas of the business, including video editing, animation, DVD authoring, audio mixing and sound design.

Bob and his wife recently moved home to enjoy a better lifestyle–and a better place to work: Egg. A little bit engineering, and a little bit rock ’n roll, Egg and Bob have a lot in common.

Jenn Millington

We may be a young group, but we never miss an opportunity to grow younger. And Jenn Millington is proof. A recent grad of the NSCC Screen Arts Program, Jenn’s first exposure to film was in 2004, at a bring-your-kid-to-work-day as a kid. Before the day was out, she landed a role in a commercial. And she was hooked.

Fast-forward to 2010, when she landed at Egg–the scene of her original introduction to film. She arrived as a student intern, and now she’s...everything. In her short time here, there’s not much Jenn hasn’t done. From script supervision on set, to film editing, producing the Ice Awards show for 2010, and making her directorial début on a film for the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, entitled Superhero.

Nesting at Egg is all Jenn dreamed it would be...and more.

Joe Diprofio

As a sound engineer Joe comes to the table with 26 years of experience in most every area of audio engineering. From live engineering for world-class entertainers to feature film, television series and commercial mixing, Joe has experienced it all.

Given the last 15 years of his career being dedicated to sound design, mixing and mastering long format, series and commercial projects, Joe is sure to bring any motion picture to life.

Sarah Nadeau

Born in Montreal, Sarah grew up in Cap-Pele and Caraquet, NB–mostly. She also lived in Mexico for a year when she was nine. Eventually, she found her way to Moncton. Two years into pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree at U de M, Sarah was awarded a bursary to study in Poitiers, France, and off she went. Back in Moncton in 2003, she waitressed at the Old Triangle Irish Pub, where she quickly became the best salesperson on staff. Her rapport with customers led her to take a course at CCNB, Dieppe, in Sales and Marketing. Not surprisingly, she graduated with honors.

Sarah worked next at the NB Coalition for Pay Equity, as an executive assistant, and then for l’Association Acadienne des Artistes Professionnel du NB (AAAPB), as a Volunteer Coordinator for the Gala des Eloizes. She’s now proud of her new position as the first person you’ll meet in Egg’s Moncton office. Please drop in and say hi as soon as you get a chance.

Marc Arsenault

Marc simply lives for sound. Raised in Moncton, New Brunswick, Marc has dedicated the last 20 years of his existence to creating, producing, recording and mastering sound for a variety of media, including television, film and music. He has produced multiple award winning albums and has worked for the likes of Joseph Edgar, Pascal LeJeune, and Marie-Jo Therio. And he has even lent his ear to perfecting sound on set.

Well known on the Acadian jazz-rock scene as the lead bassist for Les Paiens, a two time ECMA nominated band, he’s toured overseas and across Canada. Whether on stage, in session or on set, he de livers pitch perfect sound quality everytime. And we’re glad he’s decided to leave the tour bus to join our team.

Brent Geikie

This bio began as an 847-page Russian novel, in which Brent Geike was a minor character, a mere groom in the Czar’s stable, named Vzygnrsky. But such are Brent’s prodigious editing talents, that in short order, he had whittled it down to the succinct and riveting biography of ambitious, young overachiever, Brent Geike, award-winning editor by day, musical genius by night, soul mate, father, bacon lover, Big Lebowski devotee, gummy bear connoisseur, and master juggler of all things.

For more than a decade now, Brent has worked on numerous television series and documentaries, toured Eastern Canada with several bands and as a rock DJ, and probably not slept much–good news for our clients who prefer an editor who works with his eyes open.

Ryota Suyama

Made in Japan, assembled in the USA, and now making waves in Atlantic Canada, Ryota personifies the philosophy of "kaizen"–continuous improvement.

After graduating from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, with a BA in Computer Animation, Ryota began his career as a graphic designer for a street clothing brand in the city. Soon, his love for animation led to his freelancing on 3D and 2D projects, ranging from commercials for clients like Dove, 3M, and Advil, to stage-show animation for artists including Eminem, Beyoncé, and Blue Man Group.

Now he creates cutting-edge visuals at Egg, in the world’s next great creative mecca: Halifax. Stand back.
